Local musician and pastor’s song hits top spot on Christian Rock charts – The Morning Sun

A local musician and worship pastor/associate of Thrive Church has reached the top of the Christian rock music charts.

Matt Moore’s song “Beautiful” reached No. 1 on the national Christian rock radio charts on March 30. Previously, Moore’s single “Broken Pieces” charted in the top 10, peaking at number six in 2021.

“I was absolutely blown away by the response to this single,” Moore said. “It’s crazy to think that a song so personal and close to my heart connects to so many other people. I feel truly blessed and honored to be able to share this message of hope with the world.

“Beautiful” is the second single from Moore’s latest EP “The Art Of Precious Scars”. The album was produced by Josiah Prince (of Disciple) at The Ranch studio in Nashville.

“I originally wrote Beautiful for my daughter Sydney, but also for anyone who feels like their flaws/mistakes/scars make them unlovable/unworthy/unqualified,” Moore said. “It’s about allowing God to heal our brokenness, to be strong in our weakness, and to take the broken/spoiled things in our lives and make them part of our unique story. To bring our damage and scars to light to let Him begin to heal and restore us.

Moore’s song’s high charting has been recognized by members of the community, including Thrive Church.
